My Surgery Experience

This post is about my foot surgery experience! I had to post about this because this was my first MAJOR surgery. I guess to some people surgery has to happen and why cause such a fuss, but I was absolutely terrified. This was my first experience with "being put out," with operating rooms, and the whole ordeal. My foot needed to be fixed though. My arch collapsed every time I would walk on it, my bunion need to be taken out, my big toe needed to be straightened, and they had to cut my heel bone and align it correctly. The doctors could probably describe the whole process a lot better, so I hope that made a little bit of sense. All of these problems were contributing to my pain I had in my foot. So my thought of just my bunion was hurting turned into a 3 hour surgery.
Who would have thunk it?? :)

The night before I was to go into surgery, my dad and my brother gave me a blessing. As my brother anointed my head with oil and started the blessing I broke down into tears. I was so grateful for the priesthood that could administer to me when I needed it. I knew that I had power on my side. I was so scared and fearful and The Lord knew that. After that my dad gave me the blessing. I can't remember everything that was said in the blessing, but I will always remember the last part of it. My dad said to me "we know Father that you are the Master Physician." Right as my dad said that to me, I pictured my Father In Heaven right by my doctor guiding him and helping him through my surgery. We could not see him, but he was there guiding my doctor.  I can't describe the comfort this gave me. My Father in Heaven was aware of me and understood who I was. He understood that I was scared and he was the only one that could help me and hold my hand through the whole process. How very grateful I am for this gospel and priesthood blessings. I truly know that he is the Master Physician and lives.

No pictures on this post! I guess I could have put some pictures that Breanna took of me after my surgery and while I was waking up, but they don't look to hot! :) haha!

He did it! :)

Pretty much just wanted to post this because HE DID IT! It has been a long time coming for this guy here, but he did it! I am super proud of him.

Love these pictures of us!

End of our AMZING Journey!

Splash Pad!! Loving that finals are over and the warm sun!
Packing up! Sad day :(

Our roommates and I made a quote wall of all the funny things we said throughout the year!
Done and all packed up!

Our last Swig for at least 3 months!

Gosh! This is super late, but had to share this! Well... May 2, 2014 we headed home from my (Bethany's) first year at Dixie State University! What a journey! Leaving was much harder than I ever thought it would be. I don't know if many people know this, but after arriving in St. George in August I was not loving it. I was extremely homesick. I was ready to leave the next day, literally :)!! The Lord had different plans for us. As our family likes to call it- A Miracle! May sound cheesy or even kind of crazy, but I was coming home for sure.
I hate endings, I actually hate change in general. This is a bad  thing in my personality because of the fact that change happens all the time! Being in Dixie State and St. Geezy was seriously one of the best years of my life! I can't begin to describe what I have learned about my Savior and Father in Heaven, and what I have learned about myself. I grew a stronger testimony of this gospel. I know it is true. My Savior lives and is very aware of me. Time after time down there I had to rely on my Savior. I had to rely on the HOPE the gospel gives me. Let's not forget the people we met, the laughs we shared, the tears we cried (many times because of stupid boys, but seriously :)), the decisions we had to make, the many grocery store visits, Dairy Queen/Milkshakes, Kneaders and our handsome manager, meeting Daagel, Chick Fil A, Larkrise to Candleford, Dixie State Baseball games, Bonfires, and I could probably go on and on, but I am going to stop!

Last WEEKEND in St. Geezy!

 Friday Night

As the title so adequately informs, this post is about our last weekend. This is Breanna by the way. The weekend started out rough for various reasons that are not worth mentioning. Kailie came over and had dinner with us (tacos) after returning from a less-than-thrilling SAA activity of skimboarding and hotdogs. It was really windy and a bit on the chilly side. We played "chubby bunny" that night. We also went to Fiesta Fun Center and rode Go-Karts. Bethany couldn't stop laughing. Saturday we went to the temple (hence why I look like a drowned rat, WHY I LOOK LIKE A DROWNED RAT- THIS IS BETHANY) and then just hung out. We had to walk over to the library at one point to study for finals. That night we played a game of Fugitive and after 2 quick rounds because it didn't prove to be too awesome, Bethany and I and a group of friends talked to the University police for an hour and a half. Kailie slept over that night and the next day we went to church and came home to make fajitas (oh my goodness, they were bomb). It proved to be a productive weekend. It may not have been the way we had the weekend planned out in our heads but it was very eventful, productive, and unforgettable last weekend in St. Geezy! :)

Our Last Day at Kneaders :)

One of my favorite sandwich makers made me a sandwich for my last day. TBA, such a good sandwich! She wrote this on it and I thought it was so cute! She became one of my friends I met at Kneaders!

We HATE how we look in our uniforms, so excuses how awful we look :) April 21, 2014 was our last day at Kneaders. I hate change and therefore, though I was grateful to be done and just focus on finals, it still was extremely sad.  It was truly was such a good college job, and I met so many friends at Kneaders. It was actually really fun to work together for our last day at Kneaders. Fun memories were made there and it was so fun to work at the same place as my sister. It made for some fun stories and conversation. :) P.S. We were also on drive-thru together, we love drive-thru, so that was also super fun!
