Blog Post #1 (Humanities)

Okay readers, for my Humanities class I have to post different things... Just a warning so you know where some of these posts are coming from! :)

Okay a little about myself. My name is Bethany. I am from Salt Lake City. My specifically Murray. I am at Dixie State because I got a scholarship and my sister came down here while I was a senior in high school and loved it. Me and my sister are very close and so we decided to come down together for my freshmen year and try it out. I loved it and so I am back for another year! I love St. George and the red rocks. The heat is kind of miserable but I sure do love living here. :) It is a good place to live! I am just getting my generals done. I will graduate with my associates this Spring. After that I am not to sure what I will do. I love planning things, and so I have toyed with the idea of going to UVU and attending their Hospitality Management Program and get my bachelors in that. We will see though. :) I hope I can figure it out sooner rather then later!

Last Spring, I took Art History 2720, and that was my first experience with anything to do with Art. I am not a very artsy person nor do I like looking at art. Art History 2720 was hard for me. Not hard in the sense of the work load, but hard because analyzing art is not my thing. So I guess that would address one of the anxieties I have for this class. I also worry about the debate it will bring up in class. I don't like conflict and my beliefs may differ from others. I also am not a very outgoing person in a classroom setting and so to participate is going to be extremely difficult for me especially when it comes to sharing my opinions. Those are a couple of anxieties I have for the class!

I guess, just to be patience with my if I am not understanding the material. Academics don't come easy for me and so when I have a patience professor I will do a lot better in the class!
I am excited to learn though and am excited to see what this class brings!

Dixie State Round 2!

We made our move down to St.George this past weekend! Sophomore and Senior year! Bre will graduate with her Bachelors and I will graduate with my Associates! We can do it! And our dear parents came down to help us settle in! Our bathroom was pretty nasty when we got there, so our sweet momma helped us clean it up so we were comfortable using it!

Our hard-working dad, helped us clean the carpets and helped (along with momma's help of course) get us settle in! He bought us tons of groceries, and just made it feel homey! Thanks daddy!

Mom and I came back to grandma's (where they were staying) and baked sister a gluten-free cake and cookies while dad and sister went back to the apartment to finish some things. I love spending time with mom. I was attached to her during the summer with my surgery and all, so she became even more of my best friend. She is pretty great and just love her sooo much! She is the best momma a girl could ask for!
I am so extremely grateful that our parents could come down with us! We are still a little homesick, and don't want Summer to end, but nothing is more constant then change, right? We are taking one day at a time, and enjoying it! This is Bre's last year and most likely mine as well, we got to live it up!!

I love my family :)

I love, love, love my family! This is my goofball brother that loves to make us laugh and will do anything to get a reaction out us sisters, but I guess that is what makes us love him soooo much!

The above two pictures are our last Sunday. And only Aly and Brenton decided to come for Sunday dinner. We are missing Brittany's family and Blake and Faye-Dawn. It was fun! We made cookies and it was super fun!
This is sister! She is beautiful and such an example to me! I sure do love her and all our laughs and memories we are making down here in St.Geezy!

Update On Life!

I have to confess, I haven't posted much because I don't think many people read my blog. I guess I should just post for my own records, but then again it is always nice to have others read it, right!?

But lets update. I guess really there isn't much to update on, but an update on my foot: I went at my 6 weeks mark and I will tell you I really thought that my bones were going to be healed and I would start walking, that was very wrong because my bones were not quite healed-I had another 2 1/2 weeks without any weight bearing. I seriously was devastated. I cried all the way home. I was so mad, sad, frustrated pretty much every emotion in the world I was feeling. My Savior stepped in and helped me. He knew exactly how to help me, and He did just that.
I went about two weeks ago Monday, and he told me my bones were healed and gave me the green light to start putting weight on it. HOORAY!! Okay, my bones are healed lets walk out of the doctors office. NOPE. THe nurse brought in a weight scale to show me what 50 pounds felt like, I was extremely surprised on how painful that was. I could not even really get to 20 without it hurting. As I thought about it though, I haven't put weight on my right foot for 9 weeks. Of course it is going to be painful. So now in the process I could walk, but not really because I had to have the crutches because I really could not put all the weight on it.
Alright, alright now I am walking without any crutches and it is soooo nice! I love it!
Needless to say, this process has been extremely hard, but I have seriously learned a lot. And, even though I am going a little stir crazy this summer has been nothing but movies, reading, and bumming. Not a lot of people can say that right! Thursday is my 11 weeks and tomorrow I go to the doctors and hopefully I can start physical therapy.

Thats me!

Bre is working and finished her summer class!

I will post pictures later!

Yellowstone Trip 2014

This was at the rodeo on Thursday night! We like to take selfies!

Lava Hot Springs. We thought we were pretty cool with a margarita! So we took pictures :)

This was at Lava as well. Dad, mom, Breanna, and Blake all went to the hot pools. I just sat and watched! Haha! Love these things I am learning while having this boot on my foot!

We always go to the Playmill Theater up in Yellowstone. It is our favorite part of the trip. The cast is always so funny and not to mention the boys are extremely handsome! We went to Beauty and The Beast and Les Mes! Both were very well done!

Personal Pedicure

My sweet mom gave me my own personal pedicure!

The final product! I loved the color!

My Little Nurses :)

Two weeks into my surgery, I went from my weekly check-up to find that one of my incisions was wet. I guess, this is not good. The doctor ordered us to redress the incisions and put this medicine on it that would dry it up. Sooooo these are my little nurses that helped me do that! :) They're the best! Thanks to them all my stitches are out and looking good!
